Terms of Use & End-User License Agreement

These Terms govern your use of aletay.io and the Aletay app, operated by Sapiox MG, LLC ("Aletay"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Aletay.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Aletay. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

2. The service

Aletay is a platform where authors publish books and columns, readers buy and read them, and authors may optionally use AI-assisted writing, audio narration, and print-on-demand. Features and pricing may change over time.

With your permission, the app may send push notifications about your reading and the authors and events you follow. You can turn these off at any time in your device settings. Purchases are made on the aletay.io website, not inside the app.

3. Your content & ownership

You retain ownership of the work you create. By publishing on Aletay, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, distribute, and sell your work through the service and to produce audio or print editions you request. You are responsible for ensuring you hold the rights to what you publish.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Aletay to publish content that is primarily sexual, that infringes others’ rights, or that promotes hatred or violence toward people. Depicting mature or difficult themes within a story is permitted and age-restricted; content intended to incite hatred or violence is not. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Payments, royalties & refunds

Purchases are processed by Stripe. Authors earn the royalty rate stated at the time of sale. Digital goods are generally non-refundable once accessed, except where required by law. Print orders are fulfilled by our print partner and subject to their production and shipping terms.

6. AI-assisted features

Optional AI writing and narration tools generate output from the information you provide. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the suitability and originality of anything you publish. AI output is provided without warranty of accuracy or fitness.

7. Apple App Store

If you use the Aletay iOS app, this agreement is between you and Aletay, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. The app’s standard end-user license also incorporates Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aletay is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Aletay at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or where required by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
